	Connemara & Mayo Photos taken while cycle-touring in the West of Ireland. Off-road riding does not exist, but occasional dirt roads and hundreds of empty country lanes make for great riding in beautiful, green countryside. Ballybunion [41K] Beautiful seaside town near the mouth of the Shannon, N-W Kerry. Great little country road runs along the entire coastline amid rolling hills Ballyduff [52K] Small, typical town north of Tralee, Kerry. The old family pub is on the right. A busy afternoon. Country lane by the twelve pins, Renvyle Lane following the seashore north of Clifden. The twelve pins (mountains) are in the background. Cleggen, Connemara Muddy lane out to the beach from town. Some monolithic tombs nearby. Famine Trail Road The road following an infamous famine trail south of Westport. Kylemore Abbey Two-track roads through old growth woodlands. Lough Corraig A veiw of the lough (pron. "lock") from a roadside wall. Murrisk Abbey [19K] Kathy's busted for trials riding in the abbey! Renvyle, Connemara Lane passing over an old bridge, near Clifden. Sheep, not cars... [23K] Most of the traffic you'll find riding the backroads. The drivers are very well mannered, not all sheep are. Tully Cross Small town with a lively pub.
